McLaren Accuses Ferrari Of Using Illegal Vehicle To Win
Ferrari was accused of using an illegal vehicle to win the Australian Grand Prix. The enemy of Ferrari, McLaren were obviously the ones making the accusations and as was expected Ferrari denied any and all of these ‘false’ reports.
Contrary to what McLaren said, Ferrari has never benefited from any advantage obtained illegally. The two cars used in the Australian Grand Prix were judged to be in conformity with technical rules by stewards before, during and after the event, the statement said. If there had been any illegality, they would have been disqualified.
McLaren Chief Executive Officer Ron Dennis alleged Wednesday that Ferrari had used a floor device that was later deemed illegal by the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile, the governing body of the Formula 1 racing circuit. Ferrari responded by saying it had been told of the illegal device after its competitor Kimi Raikkonen won the race and immediately made the necessary changes. The manufacturer blamed certain ambiguous FIA rules for the mix-up, Ansa said.
