Lamborghini Will Return

Lamborghini Murcielago

The JLOC Isao Noritake team was given permission to compete in the 75th Le Mans 24 Hours. This means that 54 vehicles will be featured in the race. The Japanese team was forced to withdraw its entry on Thursday morning after a high-speed accident involving Marco Apicella during the first qualifying session destroyed the only Lamborghini Murcielago entered into the race, with no hope of the damaged car being repaired in time for the start.

However, the team has now been given dispensation by the ACO to replace the damaged car, with a new chassis having arrived from Paris this morning, with the team taking to the track during the morning warm-up to turn the first laps with the car. Who will actually drive the car remains to be seen however, with Apicella not fit to compete, leaving just Koji Yamanishi and Atsushi Yogo as named drivers in the car.

The fact that 54 cars will take part in the race also means that the T2M Motorsport Dome has been given permission to compete in the race despite none of its three drivers setting times quick enough to qualify for the race due to the conditions encountered throughout qualifying.
