One Mercedes vehicle that we do not hear or see very often is the Sports Tourer. The Tourer debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 2004 and was designed in two variants. The Europian version, the “Vision R” Grand Sports Tourer and the “Vision B” Compact Sports Tourer. It is quickly becoming a versatile vehicle for any type of consumer.
As always there are rumors flying around that Apple is working on devolping an in-car navigation system and possibly a stereo system for Mercedes vehicles. These features will only be available to Mercedes during the first six months of 2009. After that the technology will be available to other manufacturers who want it.
Knowing Apple CEO Steve Jobs’ preference for Mercedes, and Apple’s new push into consumer electronics, a GPS system is at least somewhat believable. Add the audio system element, and people got to thinking. What if Apple wasn’t working on two projects with Mercedes, but instead just one?

Now that they have tackled the safety for all the passengers they have turned their focus onto anticipating and preventing accidents. That is why Mercedes is creating a new and intelligent driver assistance systems, which will use the stereo cameras and radar sensors that will monitor the surrounding area around the vehicle.
